Breakfast Time with Bee Pollen

I love having fruit for breakfast, especially when it was the summer I was having it nearly everyday, now we are in autumn I’m still trying to have it before I start turning to the good old faithful porridge (oatmeal)!

So this morning I had my usual fruit, my favourites, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries alongside Rachel’s Organic Vanilla Yogurt, this time I sprinkled some Cacao Powder and Bee Pollen on top.

Bee Pollen is meant to be a great source of proteins, vitamins, minerals and amino acids, so I’ve been trying to incorporate about a teaspoon a day!

The Wanderer Returns

Hey all,

So firstly again my apologies for neglecting my blog, I had a lot of changes go on this year and I can safely say that you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, that phrase will resonate in my head for the rest of my life! I am so thankful that I have such supportive family and friends around me and so happy that from now I am that happy, bubbly and full of confidence that the rest of my life is going to be on the up from now on! I’m sort of just skimming over a few topics quickly here, as I just want to get you up to speed on what I was up to whilst I was away.

This is a before and after from a few months ago after I did a fasting of having nothing to eat after 8pm and before 12pm, just water (or black tea/ coffee),

After is on the left and before is on the right, my tummy is noticeably flatter and I only did it for a week, so definitely if you have a dress you need to lose a bit of bloat to get rid of, I would suggest that diet, its a good quick fix and I ate lunch and dinner, salads and sweet potato etc type dinners!

Just so you all know I have started using Snap Chat- lillizzi

I find it so much fun, you can also find me on Instagram- @adoremydiet

Love you all and chat soon

To be Vegan or not?

Hello everyone, I haven’t posted for a long time and I guess the reason is simply because I was trying to work out what I wanted, whether I wanted to continue labelling myself as Vegan or not. I later decided that labelling myself was not going to help at all, for my PCOS I am limited in a lot of things anyway so why should I further limit myself from having the occasional yoghurt, egg or piece of fish.

I eat meat every other day but the hubby and I also have a meatless week once a month where we have pasta and cheeses etc! I just want to point out that I have not taken this decision lightly to eat without a label, I had started eating vegan for health and weight reasons in the first place, I do believe that in my later years I probably will become vegan when I can source all the right foods I need!

So a quick low down on my weight loss journey, I am very happy and the weight is slowly coming off, I did have a bit of a panic last night as I felt I have well and truly stopped losing weight but I’m fighting through it!

Hope you all have a wonderful day X

Top 5 Great Vegan Smoothies!

Here is a list of my top 5 vegan smoothies!

Persimmon & Kiwi Smoothie

I have been meaning to write this list for a while now and by jove, I have finally done it! I have compiled a list of my own smoothies that have been building up and I thought I would wait instead of putting them on separately, I thought I would just show you my top five vegan smoothies! These are great if you are just getting into eating healthy, becoming vegetarian, having a meatless monday or even if you just want to get in more veggies and fruit!! Here goes….!

1. Beginner Smoothie.

This is such a beautiful smoothie, especially for beginners. (Tip: you can’t taste the spinach, like at all!)

  • 1 Apple- Peeled & cored.
  • 1 Banana- Peeled and chopped.
  • 1 Cup Frozen Pineapple & Mango Chunks.
  • 1/2 Cup Raw Spinach.
  • 1/2 Cup Apple Juice.
  • 3 Medium Size Ice Cubes.

Pile in all ingredients at once into your blender, mine is a Nutri Ninja Pro which I absolutely love as it blends everything together with minimal effort and with ice or frozen fruit!!

2. Detoxing Green Smoothie.

  • Half A Cucumber- leave skin on!
  • 3 Small Mint Leaves.
  • 1 Apple- Peeled & Cored.
  • 1 Cup of Raw Spinach.
  • 1/2 Cup of Water.
  • 3 Medium Ice Cubes.

Throw everything into the blender and blend, done in 2 minutes with a bit of pulsing and the consistency was like juice!!

3. Freelee The Banana Girls Datorade

FD35E3B2-1125-4645-989F-E196A8272BFB

This is my take on Freelee’s Datorade, I love all her recipes for smoothies, so tasty! I just added a banana to make it that much thicker and even more creamy! Thanks Freelee!

  • 4 Dates- Stone taken out.
  • 1 Ripe banana- Peeled.
  • Few Drops Vanilla Essence.
  • 1-2 Cups of Water.

Whiz everything together in the blender, this is a great recipe for if you have a smaller blender than Freelee’s, if you want to you could also add ice, I actually poured mine over ice to make it nice and cold!!

4. Mango, Pineapple & Kiwi Fruit Smoothie.

27D1FD81-EB46-490C-A430-FB6CB523A3BB

  • 5 Chunks Frozen Mango.
  • 5 Chunks Frozen Pineapple.
  • 1/2 Frozen Kiwi Fruit.
  • 1/2 Banana.
  • 1/2 Cup Pure Orange Juice.
  • 1/2 Cup Water.

Blend together, for a less thick smoothie please add more orange juice or water, the taste of this had oodles of mango aftertaste, as soon as you sipped you really get the flavour of the pineapple! Wow!

5. Chocolate CoYo Banana Smoothie.

  • 2 Banana’s- Peeled & Chopped.
  • Drizzle Salted Caramel Flavouring (Available at Waitrose).

Blend together in blender, super quick and deliciously creamy!

I hope this gives you some inspiration to go and try them, always remember that you can always modify these to suit your own taste buds, don’t be afraid to add more or less ingredients and you will be well on your way to a fitter and healthier you.

Enjoy! x
